Safety, suitability, and referrals
Safe care depends on an accurate health history, informed consent, realistic expectations, and knowing when chiropractic or nutrition care is not the right first step.
Before care begins
Tell Dr. Kim about diagnoses, recent injuries, surgeries, pregnancy, medications, supplements, neurological symptoms, bone-health concerns, and other treatments. This information may change the examination, the technique used, or whether a referral is needed.
When medical evaluation may come first
Seek prompt medical attention for emergency symptoms. A website cannot determine whether your situation is urgent. Significant trauma, new weakness or numbness, loss of bowel or bladder control, severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, chest pain, breathing difficulty, or other concerning changes require appropriate medical assessment.
Professional scope and collaboration
Chiropractic care does not replace primary care, diagnosis or treatment of medical disease, physical therapy, or specialized nutrition care. When your needs fall outside scope, the appropriate next step may be a physician, emergency service, physical therapist, registered dietitian, or another qualified professional.
Progress and stopping rules
A care plan should have goals, a review date, and a way to measure whether it is helping. If you are not improving as expected, the plan should be reconsidered rather than automatically extended.
